Have Fun With Free Poker

If you like to play online poker but are afraid that you might end up losing too much money, then why not try free poker? There are plenty of sites that allow you to play free poker. Some are actual poker sites that also allow gambling while others are sites that are just for fun.

When you play free poker, you use fake money in your account and get to play with either live people or those who are computer generated. You can brush up on your poker skills so that you can learn a thing or two about the game. If you are a novice at online poker, you are better off to play free poker before you even think of playing for money. Online poker is different from playing poker in person. You cannot see the eyes of the people you are playing with nor read their expressions.. Of course, they cannot read yours, either.

One way that you can have fun with free poker is to play the free poker machines at some casino sites. Playing poker machines is a great way to get started in the world of poker as you can easily pick up the concept of the game. Poker machines are usually draw poker while you will most likely play stud poker in poker rooms online. The difference between stud and draw poker is that you get to draw additional cards in draw poker. In stud poker, you can only play the cards you are dealt.

Texas Holdem is a derivative of 7 card stud poker. The reason it is so popular is that it is easy to learn and it is an excellent tournament game. Up to 10 players can play with a single deck of cards, making counting into the deck impossible because only 25 cards are dealt at the maximum. With Texas Holdem, you get two pocket cards that are dealt to you alone, face down. The other five cards are put in the center of the table face down and then slowly turned over. You must make up your poker hand using five cards and must use the two pocket cards, but can use any of the cares that are in the center of the table.

You can play free Texas Holdem card games at some sites online as well as Omaha, a spin off of Texas Holdem as well as 7 card stud and other card games. If you prefer free poker draw games, you can play poker machines for free in online casinos. You can play free poker either with flash or download free software. You can have all the fun you want playing free poker without it costing you any money while learning to perfect your poker playing skills and entertaining yourself.
